The Sleep Project
A collaborative art project on the nature of humanity. What this is all about.
The Sleep Project is a collaborative art project, seeking to demonstrate the inherent equality of all human beings. To do this, we need you!
These photos will then be formed into a large piece of artwork which will be publicly exhibited at a place to be confirmed once completed.
So, what do we need in your photo?
- You need to be asleep, preferably. Which means you’ll need someone else to take the photo (or a REALLY long timer). Pretending to be sleeping is ok, but asleep is better. There is a difference.
- No posed shots. These aren’t glamorous, manicured shots of brushed hair, smooth skin and satin sheets. We want you, as you are, in your space. Doesn’t matter who you are, where you live, or how you sleep (or sleep with!)
- No photos of unconsenting friends please. By all means give them this invitation to contribute and help them take a photo if they wish, but we can’t accept anything that doesn’t have the subject’s consent.
- It can be an up close or distant shot. But we need to be able to make you out fairly clearly. Colour or black and white are fine.
Instructions
1. Take a digital photo
2. Email it to thesleepproject@gmail.com
3. We’ll then keep you updated as to the progress of the project and let you know when it is completed and exhibited.
4. Send this information on to your friends, family and colleagues inviting them to be a part of this too.
By submitting this photo in accordance with these instructions you are giving The Sleep Project permission to exhibit this photo publicly. No names or details will be attached to the photo so your anonymity is assured.
